Warehouse Clearance — Racking, Shelving and the Rest of the Unit

Lease end, site closure, insolvency or relocation — the deadline is usually fixed and the dilapidations clause is unforgiving. We clear the unit and buy back the parts that have value, which is what keeps the overall cost of the clearance down.

What we buy

  • Pallet racking, longspan and boltless shelving
  • Mezzanine floors, staircases and handrail
  • Cantilever, drive-in and pallet live storage
  • Associated storage equipment: bins, cages, stillages, roll cages

What we don't buy

  • General office and production waste with no resale value — we can arrange licensed disposal, but that is a cost line, not a purchase
  • Hazardous materials, which need a specialist licensed contractor

We would rather tell you no on the phone than waste your week. If it isn't for us, we will usually point you at what is.

What the price depends on

The proportion of the unit that is resaleable storage equipment rather than waste
How much sorting and segregation is needed before removal
Deadline pressure — a tight lease end limits routing flexibility
Access, loading dock availability and vehicle restrictions

How the job runs

  1. 1. Survey

We walk the unit, count bays, note mezzanine sizes and identify what is resaleable and what is waste.

  2. 2. Split offer

You get a clear breakdown: what we are paying for, what costs money to dispose of, and the net position.

  3. 3. Programme

Dates set against your lease end or completion date, with RAMS and insurance issued upfront.

  4. 4. Clear and document

Equipment removed for resale, waste segregated and removed under transfer notes, unit swept.

Safety, compliance and paperwork

  • Dismantling is carried out by crews trained under the SEIRS (Storage Equipment Installers Registration Scheme) framework.
  • A risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) is produced for the site before work starts, and shared with your responsible person.
  • We work to PUWER and Work at Height requirements, using MEWPs or towers rather than climbing racking.
  • Any genuinely scrap material leaves under a waste transfer note so your duty of care under the Environmental Protection Act is documented.
  • The site is swept and handed back clear — no beams left in a corner for your landlord to find.

Warehouse Clearance FAQs

Can you work to a lease-end deadline?

Yes — dilapidations deadlines are most of what we do. Tell us the handover date first and we plan backwards from it.

Do you work for insolvency practitioners?

Yes. We can provide written valuations of storage equipment and work to the appointed IP's instructions and timescales.

Will you handle the waste as well as the racking?

Yes, with the documentation to prove it left legally.
